Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman is a psychologist, professor at Columbia University, and director of the Center for Human Potential, dedicated to helping people of all backgrounds live creative, fulfilling lives. One of the world’s most cited scientists in the fields of intelligence and creativity, he hosts the popular Psychology Podcast (30M+ downloads) and has authored or edited 11 books, including Rise Above, which explores how to overcome limiting beliefs and unlock human potential.

His writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Scientific American, Psychology Today, and Harvard Business Review. A former professor at Penn and NYU, he earned degrees from Carnegie Mellon, Cambridge (as a Gates Scholar), and Yale. Scott is also a keynote speaker, founder of Self-Actualization Coaching, and Honorary Principal Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Wellbeing Science.
